The Fort Wayne Campus of American National University located at 6131 North Clinton Street in Washington Square, celebrated its grand opening on Friday, April 29.
Activities began with guided tours following with the ribbon-cutting ceremony according to the program of events:
– Posting of Colors – 293rd Infantry Indiana Army National Guard
– Invocation – Reverend Debra L. Mueter, Pastor, Gethsemane Evangelical Congregation
– Pledge of Allegiance – Logan Walker
– National Anthem – Hoosier Gentry
– Opening Remarks and Introduction of Guest Speaker – Kevin Smith, Campus Director
– Guest Speaker – Honorable Marlin Stutzman, US House of Representatives, Indiana 3rd district (invited)
– Presentation of Gift to the Indiana National Guard Family Readiness Group – Accepted by Tammy Kelley from the NGFRG
– Ribbon Cutting – Thomas Henry, Mayor of Fort Wayne
The campus began holding classes in August of 2010 and currently offers a variety of short-term programs in fields of health care, business, and information technology. Student enrollment is projected to grow to about 400 students within the first two years of operation.
The new campus location represents a nearly $1.5 million investment by American National University all privately funded. This is the third campus to open in Indiana and is one of 29 American National University campuses in six states.
