American National University has maintained institutional accreditation for over 60 years, providing assurance that our degrees meet tested standards of quality recognized by employers, government agencies, and other post-secondary institutions.

American National University of Virginia is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) (see below for campus-by-campus accreditation listing).

American National University’s following campuses are recognized as in-residence sites by DEAC:

ABHES is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education for the accreditation of private, postsecondary institutions in the United States offering predominantly allied health education programs. ABHES is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

American National University participates in State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.

Federal SEVP Approval

This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll non–immigrant alien students. The following programs are approved for non–immigrant alien students and currently offered by American National University, however not all programs are actively enrolling non-immigrant students.
