American National University provides opportunities for individuals who are seeking to achieve their career goals by offering credential and degree programs through distance education and blended learning. American National University is dedicated to ensuring adult students have access to quality programs in career focused disciplines that provide the skills needed to be competitive in today’s changing marketplace.

GOALS

OBJECTIVES
  1. Enhance students’ educational experience in credential and degree programs to meet current marketplace needs in business, information technology, health science, and paralegal professional fields through efficient and effective access to quality curricula, learning resources, equipment, and facilities.
  2. Facilitate a learning environment that promotes the development of skills needed for students to be successful in professional settings while encouraging students to express their own ideas and respect the ideas of others.
  3. Engage students through the delivery of well-developed and relevant curricula that allows students to achieve the stated program outcomes.
  4. Support students from their enrollment to beyond graduation by providing individualized and interactive career services.
  5. Employ appropriately qualified faculty to deliver practical and theoretical knowledge, skills, and abilities that motivate students to learn and achieve their educational goals.
  6. Develop a collaborative culture of continuous improvement that puts students first and allows the University to consistently strive for educational and operational excellence.

Each state agency authorizes approval for post-secondary institutions to operate within its jurisdiction.

American National University campuses are authorized by the following state agencies:

State Campus
Virginia Campuses American National University is authorized by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia to provide educational programs beyond secondary education in the Commonwealth of Virginia; however, the institution is not subject to the requirements of certification by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
Tennessee Campuses The Nashville campus is authorized for operation by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, located at 404 James Robertson Parkway, Suite 1900, Nashville, TN, 37243, and can be reached at (615) 741-3605. This authorization must be renewed each year and is based on an evaluation by minimum standards concerning quality of education, ethical business practices, health and safety, and fiscal responsibility.
Kentucky Campuses American National University is licensed by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to offer all programs at the Louisville and Pikeville campuses. ANU Online is also licensed by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to offer online degrees.
