1st Annual Global Student Appreciation Celebration

The first annual Global Student Appreciation Celebration was a dynamic event filled with informative presentations, native dance performances, and king-size portions of international cuisine.  The Students Activities Council at American National University organized each detail and activity for the celebration. Guests from different campuses and classes joined in the celebration of diversity and culture.

There was a special appearance by the university’s President, Mr. Frank Longaker, who shared a few words on his appreciation of international students choosing American National University to provide them with quality education.

Global Student Appreciation wasn’t the only reason to celebrate on August 15, 2017; it so happened to also be Independence Day for India. There were a number of students attending that evening who were from India and lit up with joy during the Indian dance performance that consisted of four female students at American National University.

The university looks forward to an even bigger second annual Global Student Appreciation Celebration next year. It hopes to have more of the community’s involvement and an outdoors venue to present more cultural presentations.
