

Congressman Phil Roe, MD recently paid a visit to the $$Bristol Campus, along with his district director and two interns, and spoke to students, faculty, and staff. Congressman Roe is a strong supporter of the $$Bristol Campus, National College, and career-focused education and has visited several times.—
As a physician, Congressman Roe is well acquainted with the vital role that medical assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other allied health professionals play in the delivery of health care. He took the occasion of his visit to share some of his medical experiences with one of instructor Sheri Jesse’s medical assisting classes.
Congressman Roe also visited one of instructor Dennis Anthony’s information technology classes. The wide-ranging discussion included congratulating one of the students for recently completing his CompTia A+ certification, to the role of “the cloud” in modern information technology infrastructure.[img]
Congressman Roe concluded his visit with a frank discussion with faculty and staff members on the importance of career education. The congressman thanked them for their hard work in shaping future generations of East Tennessee’s workforce.
