Online Learning
At American National University, we take a different approach to delivering your education. Our programs are 100% online so that you can earn your education anywhere you have an internet connection—attend sessions from the comfort of your own home and no longer deal with expensive room and board or commuting to classes. Earn from a diploma and certificate all the way up to your graduate degree from career experienced instructors all online. If you aren’t meeting in a physical class at ANU, what do your classes end up looking like?
With our accelerated and flexible degree programs, you can attend classes that fit to your schedule—morning, afternoon, evening, and even weekend classes are available for you to earn your education without disrupting your life. For each class you will have one weekly or biweekly class and one discussion post each week. Along with that, any textbooks or lab materials you may need for your classes or discussion posts are included in your tuition price! At ANU, you are given the resources to succeed in your education, from classes that are flexible to your schedule to learning materials that better your understanding and education.
What makes ANU stand out amongst other online schools is that our class structures do not sacrifice the time you get with your experienced instructors. Not only will your instructors bring their own career experiences to your education, but you still get to meet with them at least once a week with live class interactions through Zoom. And your instructors are available when you need them—you can email them for help, and most will meet with you outside of your class time to provide the assistance you may need along your educational journey. Even though you may not see them in a classroom, your instructors are still there for you to make sure you succeed in your education and your career.
You also get to interact with your classmates during your live meetings, and you may develop your own network through them. Being able to speak with people from not only across the nation, but from different countries across the globe will enhance your quality of view and education. One of our recent graduates, Gaby Anes, found this to be true as she earned her Master of Business Administration degree. “I can take all my experience from my past work and bring new dimensions, new approach[es] to the discussion board every week,” she said, “I had people in my classes from Kenya, India, and China and Latin America, and that brings diversity of thought to the table…the experience and the networking that I created there was also fantastic.”

While our approach to your education is asynchronous, it does not impact your degree or its validity. In fact, with the way the world is ever evolving to working from home environments, earning your degree from home may give you a boost when it comes to your career. You will be experienced to communicate effectively through online interactions, strong in self-discipline to keep up with your tasks, and well-versed in multi-tasking through taking classes while maintaining a career and family. And that was true for our Paralegal Associate Degree program graduate, Lora Bernard, when it came to gaining employment just one week after graduation. “The director of the law firm said that because I went to school online, that made me more of an asset since it was a work from home position. She knew that I would be able to handle learning virtually.”
