The Clery Act, also known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, is a federal law in the United States that requires colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses. The Clery Act is enforced by the U.S. Department of Education.
The U.S. Department of Education’s 2016 Handbook for Campus Safety and Security Reporting requires that American National University must:
American National University prepares an annual security report in compliance with the Clery Act that includes institutional policies on campus security, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
